The Casio AE-1200WHD-1A a.k.a 'Casio Royale'

Okay, in all fairness, what I want to convey through the title is actually my first watch picked by myself and paid with my own money.

My fisrt digital wristwatch

My first digital wristwatch was a Disney brand (yeah, Mickey Mouse and all, that Disney) digital watch. My dad bought it for me at a shopping mall in 2007, cost RMB 198 at that time. I remember clearly back then I was trying to decide between #00FFFF color wrist band and #1C86EE wrist band. I ended up with the blue one.
Unfortunately, I lost that watch after a computer lab class in elementary school.

After that, I briefly owned a square-bezel off-brand digital watch (cost about RMB 120-150 I think), which I gave away free of charge to a junior high school roommate. I recall it has seven back-lighting colors and one can select one color to illuminate or do a seven-color rotate, hats-off to that :)

Picking the 'Casio Royale'

And now here I am, trying to find yet another digital watch, but this time pay with my own money.

Fun fact, I didn't even check any renowned forums or BBSs such as watchuseek, I just searched Casio Men's watch on JD.com and this one caught me eye. And what do you know, without knowing, I have chosen the 'Casio Royale'...

Casio Royale

FYI, 'Casio Royale' is not an official name, rather just being referred by many watch enthusiasts because it resembles a SEIKO brand watch worn by James Bond in the 1983 movie Octopussy. Here's an article about the Seiko G757 Sports 100 watch used by James Bond in 1983: Click

I thought about buying it off amazon, but the price was not so good.

And it was at that time when I came across a fairly good deal on JD.com. For RMB 209 (about $30) I can have this watch with free shipping. So there really isn't much to think about.

Shipping

Here it is, my very first Casio Digital Wristwatch. Only took an overnight to arrive, which is just mind-blowingly fast shipping.

I think it looks good on me, and it's got all the function of a typical good quality quartz digital watch: stainless steel band, world time indicator, countdown timer, hourly time signal, 5 alarms (one-time alarm or daily alarm), and a mute function.

Till next time (get it? time <-> timekeeping <-> wristwwatch, okay I'll stop).
